1000-lb Sisters star, Amy Slaton, accused of being an unfit mother

1000-lb Sisters star, Amy Slaton, welcomed her baby, Gage Deon Halterman, in the first week of March 2021, and has come under fire for already feeding him solids.

1000-lb Sisters’ Amy Slaton took to Instagram on Tuesday, 2 March 2021, to announce the birth of her son, Gage Deon Halterman. The reality star, whose pregnancy was compromised due to her excessive weight, was under scrutiny throughout the months leading to her birth, as fans were concerned about the health of her baby. Amy shared her pregnancy struggles on the TLC show and revealed that she had undergone bariatric surgery in order to fall pregnant.

On Friday, 26 March 2021, Amy shared a post of her baby after he had eaten green beans, ultimately revealing that she had already begun feeding him solids. Fans were shocked to find out that Amy had fed him anything other than milk at less than one-month old. Some cautioned her against passing her unhealthy relationship with food on to him.

Evidently angered about being inundated with comments suggesting she is an unfit mother, Amy tweeted, “Gage’s doctor told us to give him vegetable. I would never do anything to hurt Gage. I even messaged his nurse daily to make sure he stays safe. Only thing he said was not fruit right now.”
