Bridgerton has been renewed for a third and fourth season, merely four months after its highly successful premiere on Netflix.
Bridgerton’s highly successful first season led to it being immediately renewed for season two, and now Netflix and production house, Shondaland, have revealed that it has been greenlighted for seasons three and four. In an Instagram post from Shondaland on Tuesday, 13 April 2021, the production house shared an aptly written announcement from the fictional narrator on the series, Lady Whistledown. It stated, “Esteemed members of the Ton, It seems we have a rather special announcement. Bridgerton shall return for seasons three and four. The author shall have to purchase more ink…”
According to Digital Spy, the first season reached 82 million households around the world in the first 28 days, making it Netflix’s biggest original series to date. Whilst many of the original castmates will be returning for the upcoming seasons, Shondaland revealed on Friday, 2 April 2021, that Regé-Jean Page, who played The Duke of Hastings, will not be.
