Chrissy Teigen struggles with mental health following bullying claims

Chrissy Teigen recently shared the mental health challenges she had to face, stating that she is depressed, following the accusations of cyberbullying.

Chrissy Teigen took to Instagram on Wednesday, 14 July 2021, to express her feelings following her bullying allegations. Teigen came under fire after some tweets she wrote in 2011 resurfaced online. Courtney Stodden, a former teen bride and media personality, shared a video in April 2020, in which she accused the model of stalking, bullying and harassing her on social media. Stodden stated, “I was a minor – I was 16 and 17 during her period of bullying and hating on me.”

The various bullying tweets from Teigen to Stodden during 2011 and 2012 remain undeleted and are publicly visible. One of Teigen’s tweets during that time states that she fantasizes that the teen takes a dirt nap, which is slang, that essentially means that she hopes she dies. During the same year, Teigen reportedly also bullied and harassed Lindsay Lohan. Teigen wrote, “Lindsay adds a few more slits to her wrists when she sees Emma Stone.”

In May 2021, Teigen apologized to Stodden, stating that she was ashamed and completely embarrassed about her past behaviour. Teigen allegedly took a break from social media, but returned in June 2021 with a Medium article, in which she reflects on her actions. In the statement, Chrissy stated, “Not a single moment has passed where I have not felt the crushing weight of regret for the things I have said in the past.”

Following the Medium article, designer, Michael Costello accused Teigen and her stylist, Monica Rose of blacklisting him, which he says led to him experiencing suicidal thoughts. However, Teigen responded, claiming that he was lying about the accusations.

In her most recent Instagram post, Teigen opened up, stating, “I am handling this right now is not the right answer.” Chrissi also shared the mental health challenges the she has faced in the past few weeks, further stating, “I do not really know what to say here, just feels so weird to pretend that nothing happened in this online world but I feel like utter s*&$t in real life. Going outside sucks and does not feel right, being at home alone with my mind makes my depressed head race. I feel lost and I need to find my place again.”

Teigen came to the conclusion that “it just sucks. There is no winning.” She also addressed her 34 million followers, stating, “I love you guys, I miss you guys, and I just need an honest moment with you because I am just tired of being sick with myself all day.”
