Did Alton Brown go to culinary school?

Alton Brown developed a passion for cooking from his grandmother and mother, and decided to explore his interest by attending the New England Culinary Institute in 1992.

Alton Brown is a television personality and food expert who created a career around his love for both the entertainment industry and cooking. His love for the kitchen was evident from an early age, but was considered more of a hobby than a job opportunity. After attending university and studying film, he then decided to rather follow his passion and enrol at the New England Culinary Institute in 1992. In 1998, Alton combined his humour with food science and history in his cooking show, Good Eats, which was commissioned by The Food Network in 1998.

Good Eats concluded in 2011, and allowed the chef to feature on other shows on The Food Network. He is currently a regular commentator and judge on Iron Chef America and is also the host of Cutthroat Kitchen. Good Eats: The Return also re-joined the channel in 2019, and Alton continues to appear on many other cooking shows to share his expertise.
