NBC has announced that The Blacklist will be coming to an end very soon, after the show’s tenth season airs.
This has upset many fans, not only because they will be sad to see the show go, but also because this means that some of the things about the series that just do not make any sense at all will never be explained.
Is The Blacklist ending?
Not many series can boast that they have been able to capture the attention of fans for ten seasons long. Unfortunately, though, NBC has announced that the tenth season of The Blacklist will be the show’s last.
The Blacklist has continued to have fairly strong viewership numbers and ratings throughout. The first episode of the final season aired on 26 February 2023. Viewers will have 12 episodes in total before they have to bid Raymond Reddington farewell.
Does The Blacklist make sense?
The announcement that The Blacklist is coming to an end after 10 seasons has caused fans and critics of the show to reflect on all of the previous seasons. There is certainly no doubt that The Blacklist’s plot can, at times, be difficult to follow.

Why Liz’s relationships do not make sense
One thing about The Blacklist that has been a sticking point for fans since the beginning of the series is Liz’s relationships.
It often seems as though Liz only develops a platonic relationship with another character on the show when it is important for the plot, and then this relationship disappears again when it is no longer needed for the plot.
The best example of this is Liz’s inconsistent relationship with Agnes. In the seventh season, Liz spends a considerable amount of time finding a nanny to take care of Agnes.
But after the storyline with Katarina plays out, Agnes becomes almost non-existent at the end of the season.
Raymond Reddington’s messy timeline
You do not need to be an avid The Blacklist fan to understand that the mysteries surrounding Raymond Reddington are left intentionally vague to keep the series interesting and mysterious.
However, fans have found that the details that have been revealed about his past are just not consistent enough to form a cohesive whole.
This does not even include the details about what happened in the fire, which also seem to change every time a new details is revealed.
Why is no one talking about Raymond Reddington and the other characters?
While the confusing details about Liz’s relationships and Raymond’s past that keep changing throughout the show’s run do not make much sense, most fans and viewers understand that history sometimes needs to be rewritten for a narrative to keep moving forward.
However, one detail that has not really had a significant impact on the plot of the series, but has also never been explained, is the fact that there does not seem to be any large media outlets or even internet forums in The Blacklist’s universe.
Not only would the taskforce and their incredible efforts to track down some of the FBI’s most wanted criminals certainly have garnered some media attention, but notorious figures like the illusive Raymond Reddington and Katarina Rostova would certainly have been the topic of some wild internet conspiracy theories in any other series universe.
Yet somehow, this is never mentioned or explored in the show.
