How Britney Spears’ medical team is supporting her

According to a court filing, a “strong recommendation by the medial team that Jamie Spears, Britney Spears’ father, needs to be removed from the conservatorship” was made.

In a court filing on Thursday, 29 July 2021, Britney Spears’ conservator, Jodi Montgomery, claims that Spears’ doctors agree that Jamie Spears should be removed from all legal and financial matters which concern the singer.

According to the court document, “Ms. Spears’ doctors have previously opined that the relationship between Ms. Spears and her father has soured to the point that removal and replacement of Mr. Spears as conservator of the estate is in the best interest of Ms. Spears.”

Continuing, “As recently as during the 14 July 2021 hearing, counsel to Conservator of the Person Montgomery stated, unequivocally, that it has been a ‘strong recommendation by the medial team that Mr. Spears, her father, needs to be removed from the conservatorship.”

Montgomery’s statement comes days after Britney’s mother, Lynne Spears, voiced support for the singer in the legal fight against her dad.

Lynne claimed that since the conservatorship has been in place, the relationship between Jamie and Britney has deteriorated to nothing but fear and hatred.

She also alleged that this breakdown is largely due to Jamie’s behaviour, including “his mistrust of her, his complete control of her, his coercion of her, his bartering with her over what she can and cannot do for whatever reward, or punishment he is willing to mete out.”

Lynne also revealed that Jamie hired a “sports enhancement” doctor who prescribed what she and others believed to be “inappropriate medicine” to her daughter.

The doctor allegedly encouraged Britney to enter a healthcare facility she did not want to, and subsequently threatened her with punishment if she did not stay for treatment.

According to the filing, Lynne stated, “It is clear to me that Jamie is incapable of putting my daughter’s interests ahead of his own, on both a professional and personal level, and that his being and remaining a conservator of my daughter’s estate is not in the best interest of her.”

The filing suggests that Jamie should willingly step aside and appoint Jason Rubin, a certified public accountant, as the new conservatorship head. The next hearing is scheduled for 29 September 2021.
