What I’m Doing
After receiving an unexpected invitation to Facebook’s Performance Bonus program, I adjusted my approach to focus on platform-native content for Facebook rather than using it solely as a traffic driver to my website. Specifically, I:
- Created Facebook-First Content: Stopped including links and started posting directly on Facebook to engage followers without directing them away.
- Experimented with Post Types: Tested different content formats to see what attracted more reactions, comments, and shares.
- Monitored Analytics Closely: Checked income analytics daily (only available on mobile, frustratingly) to see which types of posts generated the most engagement and revenue.
Why I’m Doing It
The initial earnings from Facebook’s program were minimal—just cents per day. However, after analyzing what was working, I realized my mistake was treating Facebook as a simple traffic tool rather than a revenue source. By shifting my focus, I saw immediate improvements, which inspired me to test further. This program presented a chance to diversify my income sources away from a sole dependence on Google traffic.
The Results So Far & What’s Next
My first month with this new approach brought in $224, and as of this month, I’m at $466.48 with two weeks left. Followers have grown significantly, although engagement is inconsistent; some posts do very well, while others struggle. My plan moving forward is to refine the content types that work best for engagement and look into other features like Facebook ads to increase reach. I’m aiming for Facebook to become a stable, consistent income source in my overall strategy.
