Mako Mermaids: Is Mako Island real?

Mako Mermaids: Is Mako Island real?

In Mako: Island of Secrets, commonly known as Mako Mermaids, viewers can enter the world of a fictional island with mermaids.

Mako: Island of Secrets is an Australian television programme for teenagers and children, created by Jonathan Shiff. However, it was internationally released as Mako Mermaids.

The show is a spin-off of H2O: Just Add Water. The first season introduces the viewers to Zac, a teenage boy who decides to camp on the Mako Island.

However, he was unaware that three mermaids, Lyla, Nixie and Sirena, the guardians of the island are watching him. Zac soon fell into a magical pool of water, where he discovered that he has the ability to manipulate and control water.

Later, after falling into the water again, he realised that he became a merman with a fish-like tail.

The three mermaids’ pod casted them out for allowing Zac to visit the island. However, they were also curious about living on land.

Additionally, they were motivated to remove Zac’s new powers. Subsequently, they ventured onto the land and learned to live among humans.

In the second season, the mermaids continued their journey to reveal Mako’s secrets. There, they discovered additional information about the merman chamber.

The season sees Lyla and Nixie searching for a new home, while Sirena is left with Odina and Mimmi, who continue the effort to remove Zac’s powers and reclaim the island.

However, in the third season, viewers discover that Sirena left with Aquata, while Mimmi, Zac and Ondina are joined by Weilan, an Eastern mermaid who fled to Mako.

She informed the Mako mermaids that there is a magical water dragon destroying the islands. Subsequently, the mermaids must devise a way to defeat the dragon before it destroys everything.

It is important to note that the storyline, the mermaids, the dragon and the island is completely fictional. This means that it does not exist in real life and that it is made up.
