Netflix has announced its upcoming comedy series that is set to premiere in May, The Upshaws, starring legendary comedians, Wanda Sykes and Mike Epps.
Netflix’s new comedy series, The Upshaws, is set to premiere on Wednesday, 12 May 2021. The sitcom will centre around a working-class African American family in Indiana, which strives for a better life and a happy home while juggling everyday struggles. Led by comedians, Wanda Sykes and Mike Epps, the series is produced by Wanda and Regina Y Hicks, and also includes Kim Fields as part of the main cast.
According to Entertainment Weekly, The Upshaws is set in Indianapolis, where the show follows charismatic patriarch, Bennie Upshaw, who manages to juggle life as a car mechanic with his own shop. Bennie is committed to being a good husband to his wife, Regina, and a good father to the son he had outside his marriage with a woman named Tasha.
