Netflix has confirmed the renewal of Selena: The Series, which will be returning for a second season to provide a more detailed into the life of the legendary Mexican-American singer.
Netflix took to YouTube on Monday, 5 April 2021, to confirm that the hit biographical drama, Selena: The Series, will be returning for a second season. Premiering on Friday, 4 May 2021, the second season will look more closely at the life and fame of late singer, Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, who was often referred to as the Queen of Tejano music.
The preview showed lead actress, Christian Serratos, who plays Selena, performing her iconic song, Bidi Bidi Bom Bom, which alludes to the fact that the second season will document some of her career highlights. The series premiered in December 2020 and was an instant success amongst viewers all over the world. According to Netflix, Selena: The Series sees Selena’s sister, Suzette, serving as an executive producer on the scripted series. Moreover, she also helped develop the story with her family.
