Problematising Obi-Wan Kenobi season two

After the conclusion of Obi-Wan Kenobi, it has been teased that there is a possibility of a second season, though the series was initially set out as a limited one-season series.

This is evident in how well-rounded the conclusion of the series was. Hence, a second season would be indulgent, and it would not serve the purpose of the story.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: Why is Obi-Wan so weak?

When the first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi aired, fans were confused about why Obi-Wan was so weak. Within the context of the story, it was understood that there were a number of factors that fed into this.

The first of those factors was that Obi-Wan had aged, as was apparent in how they made jokes in reference to his age, which seems older than the 40s he is said to be.

Moreover, other factors that resulted in his struggle to even fight low-level criminals include that he had not been training Padawans, he was not saving the galaxy from the Sith, and in extension, was not using the Force.

But fans of the series believed that Obi-Wan’s weakness was Disney sticking to their signature Hero’s Journey arc of starting from a point of weakness and gaining strength throughout the progression of the show.

This was arguably supported by how well-rounded everyone’s major story arc was by the season finale.
