Peacock has announced its upcoming comedy series, Rutherford Falls, which stars award-winning actor, Ed Helms, and Jana Schmieding.
Peacock’s latest comedy series, Rutherford Falls, is scheduled to premiere on Thursday, 22 April 2021. In a preview shared on YouTube in March 2021, Ed Helms was introduced as the lead character, Nathan Rutherford, who returns to his hometown after being informed that the town’s statue, which is of his ancestor, is being removed. He attempts to rally his neighbours to help support his movement of preserving the town’s culture, but is met with great difficulty as he struggles to win anyone over.
He is joined by his long-time friend, Reagan Wells, played by Jana Schmieding, who is also focused on creating awareness to her Native American background, which is also a big part of the town’s history. According to Peacock, “A small town in the Northeast and the Native American reservation, its borders are turned upside down when local legend and town namesake, Nathan Rutherford (Ed Helms), fights the moving of a historical statue.”
