The Wolf of Wall Street is Margot Robbie’s breakout film from 2013, which might have garnered her success, but it also came with some regrets.
The Wolf of Wall Street is the 2013 Terence Winter written screenplay adaptation which was directed by Martin Scorsese.
The premise of the film is, “Based on the true story of Jordan Belfort, from his rise to a wealthy stock-broker living the high life to his fall involving crime, corruption and the federal government.”
The Oscar winning film is also responsible for launching the career of one of Hollywood’s most respected A-list actresses Margot Robbie, who played Naomi Lapaglia in the film, who was Belfort’s last wife.
While the role came with success, Robbie has since expressed some regrets in playing the breakout character.

The Wolf of Wall Street is a biopic film that was considered one of the snubbed films during the 2014 Oscars as the film was snubbed after earning five Oscar nods, including Leonardo DiCaprio’s nomination of Best Male Actor in a Leading Role, Best Achievement in Directing for Martin Scorsese and Best Motion Picture of the Year.
But new and old watchers of the film have expressed that it still remains a rewatchable film due to its fast-paced but concise build, which provides a window into what Wall Street looked like during its heydays of high drug-use and scandals of money laundering and corruption were still the rule of the day.
The Wolf of Wall Street: Margot Robbie, regrets and success
While The Wolf of Wall Street should have arguably been the film that won Leonardo DiCaprio his Oscar as the Best Male Actor in a Leading Role, a snub which was later rectified with his 2017 win for the Hugh Glass’ film, Revenant, the film turned out to be a breakout role for Australian actress Margot Robbie. A
role that would earn international acclaim from both critics and the general public for her role as Naomi Lapaglia. Naomi Lapaglia as a character is believed to have been inspired by Jordan Belfort’s real-life second wife, Nadine Caridi.
This was the wife who got married to Belfort at the height of his career both in the film and in real life, and as a result both got to experience Belfort at the height of his success and the events which would result in his subsequent spiral and legal dealings with the law.
Caridi is now a 58-year-old divorcee from Belfort, who by no means has become an extension of the ditzy character the film seemed to project.
Instead, Caridi is now most popularly known as Dr. Nae. She is a qualified marriage and family therapist with her own private practice living between Hermosa Beach, California, and Glen Cove, New York.
Moreover, she has her own YouTube channel called Dr. Nae’s Talking Bar, aimed to use her therapy to motivate her subscribers to overcome mental issues they might need to overcome to find their best version of themselves.
