Timeline of events leading up to Khloe and Lamar’s divorce

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom’s whirlwind romance was documented on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which showed the highs and lows that ended in divorce.

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom met in August 2009, after being introduced to one another through mutual friends. The beginning of their relationship was showcased on season four of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and served as one of the main storylines of the series in its entirety. After one month together, the couple decided to get engaged and informed their families that they would be getting married just two weeks later.

After an initial shock, their families were supportive of the nuptials and helped with planning the wedding of Khloe’s dreams. In 2010, the couple took on their own spin-off show, Khloe and Lamar, which documented their lives as newlyweds living in two separate cities, due to Lamar’s basketball schedule.

In 2011 and 2012, Khloe and Lamar continued to make their separate lives work, however, it was important to Khloe that she was able to grow her career independently of her marriage to Lamar. In 2013, Lamar was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol. He pleaded no contest and was given three years of probation and ordered to complete an alcohol abuse treatment programme. The incident caused for Lamar’s past struggles with substance and alcohol abuse to be brought up, which began to affect his basketball career and marriage to Khloe.

In late 2013, Khloe initially filed for divorce, and in a 2014 episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, she revealed that Lamar had gone missing the year prior on her birthday, as he was with another woman. This acted as confirmation of the fact that he had cheated on her.

In 2015, Khloe forged ahead with the divorce proceedings, however, Lamar’s refusal to sign the papers caused for the process to become far lengthier and complicated than anticipated. In a July interview with Complex magazine, she stated, “I talked to Lamar this morning. I talk to Lamar as often as I can, which is inconsistent, but not on my terms. I miss what we had – things we got to do together are just memories. I like looking back and holding on to that stuff.”

In October 2015, Lamar was hospitalized after being found unconscious at the Love Ranch, a legal brothel in Las Vegas. This led to Khloe putting their divorce on hold, as she rushed to his side and helped him rehabilitate from the life-threatening incident.

Finally, in December 2017, Khloe and Lamar officially got divorced and ended their tumultuous relationship. Both of them have moved on to new relationships, and Khloe welcomed her daughter, True, with on-again-off-again boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, in 2018.
