Franco Baldwin is the name on everyone’s lips, as General Hospital emerged with another plot twist which saw Franco being killed off at the hands of Peter.
Roger Howarth first made an appearance on General Hospital in 2012, assuming the role of Todd Manning. After a few legal issues, Roger’s character left the world of Port Charles.
The actor returned in 2013 as a new character, Franco – a recasting of James Franco’s original character. Franco has been through some extraordinary ups and downs since his introduction. His most recent storyline involved him seeing memories of Drew, which caused him to confront Peter about a kidnapping. Although he managed to record Peter’s confession, he also got shot in the chest. Fans believed that this was how Roger left the show, but he has confirmed that he is still part of the soapie.
He has recently joined Cameo, the celebrity video shout-out service, and will donate 100 percent of his profits to Feeding America, an organization devoted to combating hunger. “I just wanted to help out,” he shared. “You can go to www.feedingamerica.org and donate directly if you’d like, but if you’d like something in return as an incentive, I will say happy birthday or give motivational shout-outs or do inspirational jigs or whatever anybody is asking me to do…. The only rule is that I won’t denigrate or disrespect myself or anybody else!”
In an exclusive interview with Soap Opera Digest, Roger confessed to the magazine that he knows he is in good hands and has faith in the creators for brewing an exciting plot that will give him the chance to come back. It is now certain that Franco will be out of the picture for some time, but fans are at peace knowing that Roger will return.
