What is a healthy relationship?

If you are in a relationship that doesn’t have respect, communication and trust, think about why that is the case.

Healthy relationships are all about considering each other’s feelings. You two should be able to work as a team because partners  are considered  the same person. Decisions in which you’ll be making should be mutual.

If you don’t feel good about yourself while in the relationship, something must be wrong. Things are not supposed to be perfect but there should be a level of respect. These are some of the signs of a healthy relationship.

You cannot be with someone  you don’t trust. You’ll never be comfortable in the relationship. Trusting them means you know they won’t do anything to hurt you in any way.

You’re able to talk to them about anything without fearing how they will react. This shows that you are willing to have a long-term relationship together.

It’s good when you can be yourself outside of the relationship. No one wants someone who will always demand to be with them.. Being in a relationship shouldn’t change who you are, or how you go out and enjoy being in your friends’ space.

If you don’t acknowledge and accept how the other person is, think about why that is. You need to respect their opinions or beliefs. Love your partner for who they are. Imagine if your partner doesn’t take anything you say seriously. That would not make you happy.

Take responsibility

Admit when you have made a mistake. No one is perfect and as we are in a relationship; we are learning a lot about each other. If there are things  we don’t like such as your partner feeling offended about something, talk about it and take responsibility. Communication is a big part of a healthy relationship. You need to be able to tell your partner about things that bother you.
