He’s All That: Addison Rae’s first movie

Popular TikTok personality, Addison Rae’s first movie, He’s All That, is scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform, Netflix, on 27 August 2021.

Netflix has released the first official trailer of He’s All That, a reimagined version of the 1999 teen romantic comedy, She’s All That. The new film features TikTok star, Addison Rae and Tanner Buchanan in the lead roles.

The trailer, released on Wednesday, 4 August 2021, looked like it has all the right ingredients for a big summer teen hit, as it mixes romance with a makeover and a lot of cattiness and fashion.

Addison portrays the influencer and popular high school student, Padgett Sawyer, who dumps her hunky boyfriend after she catches him cheating.

Subsequently, Sawyer makes a bet with her friend that she can turn one of the unpopular guys in her class, Cameron Kweller, played by Tanner Buchanan, into a prom king.

However, it may be quite difficult, as Sawyer stated in the trailer, “Makeovers are my thing. I will create the next prom king. He is a total disaster, weird, antisocial…”.

In addition to Rae, Kourtney Kardashian, Rachael Leigh Cook, Madison Pettis and Peyton Meyer, among others, star in the upcoming film.

Netflix released the trailer on its various social media platforms. The announcement has since been flooded with comments. However, it appears that the comments are mostly negative.

On the Twitter announcement, one fan commented, “20 years later and Hollywood is still trying to sell the idea of an ‘ugly’ girl/guy that gets a new look and their lives changes for the better, because being smart or outside the box, was not good enough in the 90s, and clearly not in 2021.”

Multiple comments criticized Netflix for releasing the movie but decided to cancel several series, allegedly due to financial problems.

Another fan stated, “You did not have the budget to renew shows that people loved, but you had the budged to produce this garbage? Wow.”

Another Netflix user also commented, “Ah yes, keep cancelling good shows with representation and keep funding garbage like this.”

Despite all the hateful comments, He’s All That is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Friday, 27 August 2021.
