Outer Banks has concluded filming in Charleston, South Carolina, and has excited fans with the possibility of the second season being released before the end of 2021.
Outer Banks was one of the most popular series released on Netflix in 2020, as it garnered a large audience globally. Its overwhelming popularity led to viewers appealing for a second season and, in July 2020, merely three months after its season one premiere, Netflix confirmed that for the series had been renewed for a new season. The season two announcement post on Instagram also revealed that the production would be set in the Bahamas, as it was captioned, “See you in the Bahamas.”
On Monday, 5 April 2021, Madelyn Cline, who plays Sarah Cameron, confirmed that they had wrapped up production. Whilst the series is set in the Bahamas, many of the scenes were filmed in Charleston, South Carolina, where the production was able to continue after limitations were put in place due to the coronavirus pandemic.
