Where do the American Pickers sell their items?

American Pickers

American Pickers has capitalised on the antiques and artefacts it restores by selling them at two physical stores and on their official website, Antique Archaeology.

American Pickers first premiered on the History Channel in 2010 and was an immediate hit with viewers. The series has since become the channel’s flagship series.

Fans of the show for, 23 seasons, have watched as Mike Wolfe and co-host travel to find and restore antiques and artefacts. For fans interested in purchasing any of the pieces featured on the show, there are two avenues.

Firstly, the website, and secondly, the two physical stores they have opened, all of which are called ‘Antique Archaeology: Home of the American Pickers’. The physical stores are also a great opportunity to travel and see some of the sites featured on the show.

What is American Pickers?

American Pickers is the History Channel’s flagship show that first premiered on the channel in 2010.

Due to the show’s strong fanbase, the series, which was created by Mike Wolfe, who also serves as the face of the show, has been running for 12 years and counting with a total of 23 seasons, to date.

The premise of the show is, “Mike and Frank are pickers that travel the country and literally would go anywhere just for the prospects of finding antique gold. With the assistance of Danielle they often find themselves in a comedic pickle.”

Frank Fritz, former co-host of the show, was replaced in 2020, following an alleged fall out with Mike. He was replaced with Mike’s younger brother, Robbie.

Where do the American Pickers sell their items?

For fans that have watched Mike Wolfe and company travel the United States in search of antiques and artefacts to restore to their previous mint condition or better, the big question is: what happens to the restored items after the episode is over?

Simply, if they were not commissioned by someone who pays for the work done, the antiques are sold at the stores owned by Mike Wolfe, or the American Pickers’ website called Antique Archaeology.

The two physical stores have the same name as the online store. The first physical store was opened in LeClaire, Iowa, located in the 2000year-old historic Mississippi River town.

The building is two stories  and in keeping with the ethos of the store, Wolfe has maintained the building’s former structure.

The second store was opened in 2011 in an old Marathon Automobile Factory dating back to the early 1900s in Nashville Tennessee. The details of both the stores are shared on the website.

What happened to Frank Fritz on American Pickers?

Frank Fritz was Mike Wolfe’s co-host and close friend when the American Pickers first premiered in 2010.

The two were the faces of the series for the next ten years until it was reported that Frank Fritz would take a hiatus from the series to get back surgery.

However, as new episodes of the season aired without Fritz, fans began to wonder if the personality would ever return to the series.

In 2021, Fritz returned to the spotlight alleging that due to a falling out with Wolfe, he was being ousted from the show.

Fritz would not go into detail about the cause of the rift, but in the months that followed, Wolfe confirmed through an Instagram caption that Fritz would not return to the series.

American Pickers’ Danielle Colby sheds light on Frank’s dismissal

Mike Wolfe did not comment further confirming that Frank Fritz would not be returning to the series.

It was through cast member, Danielle Colby’s lengthy Instagram post sharing her support for Wolfe, that she implied that Fritz was not the victim and needed to take accountability for his actions which were dismissed.

Colby wrote , “Mike Wolfe, I’m proud of how you have handled the last 12 years and look forward to many more years of rolling around this big blue marble together.”

Going on to add, “I have many thoughts but won’t speak them as they are only my thoughts, not gospel. I wish things could have been different but we must be accountable for our actions when we cause instability or pain and suffering to others.”

Robbie Wolfe replaces Frank, as predicted

During his interview with The Sun, Frank Fritz would not go into detail about the reasons that he and Mike Wolfe were not only not friends anymore, but that Wolfe got him fired from the show.

What he did reveal was his speculation that Wolfe was looking to replace him with his younger brother, Robbie.

Following the confirmation that Fritz would not be returning to the series, it was confirmed that Robbie would be promoted to co-host, after his recurring guest appearance role in earlier seasons of the show.

Final thoughts

American Pickers has been a popular favourite of fans interested in the growing genre of antique items and artefacts, treasure hunting, and restoration reality format shows.

So much so that the series that currently has 23 seasons and is still running, has become the flagship show for the History Channel.

But for fans, the question about how they can purchase the featured antiques and artefacts restored on the show has continually been asked.

American Pickers’ co-host, Mike Wolfe has two store outlets and one online store under the name Antique Archaeology through which he sells the restored pieces.
