Why are there only two seasons of iCarly on Netflix?

Netflix added the widely popular Nickelodeon comedy, iCarly, to its library in February 2021; however, viewers are evidently frustrated by the fact that only two of the six seasons are available for viewing.

Netflix excited fans in February 2021 with the surprise addition of Nickelodeon’s iCarly to its library. Loyal fans were thrilled to see the series, which premiered in 2007, making a comeback.

This has allowed them to revisit the adventures of Carly, Sam and Freddie as they create their own online web channel.

Whilst Netflix’s decision to re-introduce iCarly was widely appreciated, many were frustrated by the fact that only the first two seasons were uploaded.

The series runs until season six, which ended in 2012, with close to 24 episodes per season. This means that over 90 episodes are unavailable to the audience currently.

Neither Netflix nor iCarly have commented on the matter, however, fans assume that it was done to re-spark interest in the series.

In December 2020, Paramount+ announced that it is working on an iCarly reboot. The reboot is expected to premiere in late 2021 or early 2022, which is speculated to be the reason for the recent interest in the sitcom again.
