Why did Fifth Harmony not like Camila?

It is still unknown why the other members of Fifth Harmony disliked Camila, however, following her exit, it was made to look like she was the problem.

One of the most recent popular girl groups to have had global success is Fifth Harmony. The group was formed by Simon Cowell on the popular talent competition reality show, The X Factor in 2011. The original formation of the group had members, Ally Brooke, Normani, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui and Camila Cabello. In the four years they spent together as a five-member formation, the group enjoyed global success with three certified albums, international tours and hit singles like Work From Home, Worth It and All In My Head (Flex).

However, at the height of their success, in 2016, Camila Cabello began to work on music as a solo artist. News of her working with the likes of Tayler Swift began to make headlines, with suggestions that she was planning to go solo. That same year, Fifth Harmony released a statement which read, “After 4 and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony.”

In 2017, Camila released her first debut single, Crying In The Club, which was an immediate hit and was the first indication that she would have a successful career as a solo artist. In that same year, Fifth Harmony received backlash for their 2017 VMA performance, which showcased the group dropping Cabello. The performance reportedly made Cabello cry.

Moreover, it led to the streams of videos on YouTube showing various moments when each of the group members either were slighting, ignoring or ganging up on Cabello. The reason for the antagonism towards her to this day is unknown. However, in recent interviews, Cabello suggested that it was the fact that at the time, the girls were all young and immature, a fact which has changed with time, hence her belief that the occurrences of the past would not occur now.
