Why did BTS delete their TikTok account?

BTS is one of the biggest boy bands in the world currently, with all their social media accounts boasting millions of followers who are interested in monitoring their every move.

BTS are a Korean pop band who hail from Seoul, South Korea, who have been able to introduce K-Pop to a wide range of nationalities and cultures who were unaware of such music before. The boy band has built a large social media following on all platforms, and has allowed followers to get to know them beyond their extravagant music videos and television interviews.

Upon joining TikTok in September 2020, BTS shared multiple skits and videos of themselves, giving fans new content every few days. In October 2020, it was discovered that the band’s TikTok account had been deactivated, causing fans to appeal to the platform itself to restore the BTS page. BTS subsequently shared a Twitter post revealing that they had re-joined the app, further confirming that their 21.3 million followers are still able to view their content.
