Why did Eliot leave Unforgettable?

Unforgettable cast members; Jane Curtin, Tawny Cypress and Dallas Roberts, left the show after CBS canceled it, despite it being renewed by A&E.

Unforgettable is an American police procedural crime drama television series. It premiered on CBS on 20 September 2011. After being canceled twice by CBS, it was picked up by A&E for a fourth season. The season premiered on 27 November 2015 with two back-to-back episodes. A&E canceled the show in February 2016.

In 2015, TV Line confirmed that after CBS canceled the show, many of the cast’s original deals collapsed, thus forcing them to secure other work. Dallas Roberts was one of the cast members whose deal collapsed and then went searching for something else.

Roberts was a regular cast member in seasons two and three. His character, Eliot Delson, only made guest appearances in season four. He was Special Deputy to the Mayor of New York City, as well as the new boss of the Major Crimes Section of the New York Police Department (NYPD). Dallas left the show in 2015.

After Unforgettable, Dallas made appearances in various shows, including Chicago P.D, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, American Crime, Motherless Brooklyn and Heartstrings.

Dallas has not made an appearance in a television series or movie after Heartstrings.
