Why did Evan die on Chicago Fire?

Why did Evan die on Chicago Fire?

Chief Evan Hawkins died in the eleventh season of Chicago Fire, because his character was never written to be a permanent fixture and simply just for the shock-factor.

There are many reasons why fans continue to watch Chicago Fire to this day, including the show’s daring feats, intriguing characters, and the overall format of the show.

Chief Evan Hawkins is one of the characters on the show that viewers really grew to love, and this is why his death in a fire in season 11 was so shocking to many.

Why do people still watch Chicago Fire?

Chicago Fire may not be the most accurate portrayal of what the real lives and day to day tasks of fire fighters are, but it is an incredibly popular show that keeps enticing fans to come back and watch it season after season.

The way the show manages to do this is by portraying new, impossible, and dangerous feats in every episode and having glimpses into the characters’ personal lives and their inner struggles along the way.

This not only makes the show incredibly binge-worthy, but it also gives it a good balance between drama and action, so that it is enjoyable for a wide variety of viewers to watch. This is why fans of the show continue to watch it even 11 seasons later.

Why did Evan die on Chicago Fire?

Part of what has made Chicago Fire such a success over the years, are the beloved characters on the show.

The characters on Chicago Fire are not just heroic first responders, but they have complex personal lives and moral struggles that they uncover and deal with as the show progresses.

One of the characters that quickly managed to impress viewers and become one of the favourites on set is Chief Evan Hawkins, who is portrayed by Jimmy Nicholas.

Although Evan was only on the show for a short while, his sudden passing in the third episode of season 11, titled “Completely Shattered”, has left fans of the show shocked, devastated, and wondering what the real reason was behind this decision.

Although fans are not happy with the way that Evan dies on the show, it does not seem like there was any bad blood between Jimmy and the creators of the show, or its cast and crew.

The reason that Evan died in this episode was simply because he was never supposed to be a regular on the show and that the writers sometimes decide to kill off beloved characters to shock the audience and to change the direction of the show.

How does Evan die on Chicago Fire?

As with most firefighter deaths on Chicago Fire, Evan’s death happens while Firehouse 51 is attempting to gain control of a fire at a movie theatre.

Although the first few scenes of the fire start off as they normally would with many characters rushing in to save civilians and to secure the building, with Chief Evan Hawkins in charge of triage for the entire operation, it quickly becomes evident that Evan may not make it out of the fire alive.

Evan leaves his post at the command of the operation to help a man who is collapsing just in time for the building to give way and collapse on top of both of them.

The first responders rush to rescue Evan and the man and although Violet and the rest of the team try their best, there is no hope for Evan, and he is pronounced dead.

What will happen to Violet after Evan’s death?

Although Chicago Fire fans have come to expect that some of their beloved characters may die in the show, like what happened with Shay and Otis, Evan’s death surprised many viewers who were not expecting the character to be written off so soon.

This is partly due to the fact that Evan’s relationship with Violet was only beginning to take shape and since Violet was so uncertain about her future at the firehouse, Evan’s death may complicate her decision even further.

How did Chicago Fire fans take the news that Evan has died?

Fans are expectedly disappointed about the fact that Evan will no longer appear in the show in the future and about what his death may mean for Violet’s character.

But what has really upset fans is the fact that the writers decided to kill Evan off mostly for shock-value and not because it advanced the plot in any significant way.

Many Chicago Fire fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment about the way that the show handled Evan’s death and the fact that his character was not given enough opportunities to grow.
