Liv Dingle in Emmerdale is the second character to have died during this week’s “Storm Week”, as the actress, Isobel Steele, looks to further her music ambitions.
Emmerdale is experiencing the loss of some of its beloved characters this week as the entire week’s episodes are titled “Storm Week”.
This is as there is currently a gale storm which is wreaking havoc and claiming the lives of some of the show’s beloved characters.
The second victim of the strong winds is beloved Isobel Steele who played Liv Dingle in Emmerdale and whose life was claimed on Wednesday, 19 October 2022, as she was crushed by a caravan.
The exit of the character follows Steele’s decision to follow her musical ambitions, as she made this clear to the producers of the English soap.
Who was the first to die during “Storm Week” in Emmerdale?
“Storm Week” was recently introduced in Emmerdale as the soapie is currently celebrating its fiftieth anniversary since premiering on ITV in 1972.
The first victim that was claimed by the vicious storm was Katherine Dow Blyton in the role of Harriet Finch, who died in the Monday, 17 October 2022 episode.
Harriet died in a quad biking accident when she was looking for Amelia Spencer during the storm, who was pregnant.
The sequence was emotional as it had ebbs and flows as viewers watched as she lost control of the quad bike and tumbled down an embankment.
She almost made it but then the quad bike fell on her. She was then pulled out by Kim, only to be struck by lightning, which was her eventual doing in.
Why did Liv have to die in Emmerdale?
The second victim claimed by the storm was Liv Dingle. Before the Wednesday, 19 October 2022 episode, the previous episode saw Liv and her husband, Vinny, make their way from their home to Paddy and Chas’ home to take care of their baby as they were in hospital.
But their journey was cut short as a caravan carried by the strong winds fell on Liv and Vinny. Liv was the most impacted by the collision as she had attempted to push her husband out of the way.
Vinny could crawl out, but Liv could not. Getting assistance from Aaron, Vinny tried to remove the caravan from his wife.
However, when Paddy arrived, he realised the severity of the matter and told them to stop until the paramedics arrived.
Upon their arrival, they confirmed that moving the caravan would result in Liv’s immediate death and told Vinny and Aaron to say their goodbyes. It was touching to see brother and husband bid Liv farewell.
Following her death in the story, Isobel Steele posted a video on Emmerdale’s social media confirming that she is bidding farewell to the beloved character. She is reportedly leaving in order to explore her musical ambitions

Following the confirmation from Emmerdale that Liv Dingle is dead after seven years of Steele playing the beloved character on one of the longest-running soaps, Steele took to Instagram to formally bid the character, cast, and crew of the ITV flagship series farewell.
She asserted that it was a “big decision to leave”. Going on to thank everyone who watched or helped her grow as an actress before adding, “I love you all so much, you know who you are. The most bizarre and wonderful place to have grown up. I’m gonna miss it so much”.
Will Sam die in Emmerdale?
Another death that has been teased after Liv Dingle’s death is that of Sam Dingle. Sam was impaled by a spike while he attempted to flee the cows. Nate was able to free his uncle, and with Belle’s help, they rushed him to the hospital.
The episode ended with him being rushed to the theatre. While the situation may seem grave currently, fans are expecting a plot twist which will see Nate die instead.
This is as the last moments that we see Nate, it is clear if he he was concealing his own pain in light of his uncle’s situation. Therefore, his wound may prove fatal in the story.

“Storm Week” on Emmerdale is the nail-biting fiftieth anniversary since the soap premiered in 1972.
Since Sunday, 16 October 2022, fans have watched as two deaths have taken place so far, namely, those of Harriet Finch and Liv Dingle. Sam Dingle and his nephew Nate Robinson’s fates are also a mystery currently.
In total, an expected eight to nine deaths might take place as director, Tim O’Mara told Mirror, “No one is safe, there’s a possibility of eight or nine characters not being around for very long”.
