Why did Lydia leave Timcast IRL?

Why did Lydia leave Timcast IRL?

Lydia Leitermann confirmed that she and her partner, Andy, are leaving Timcast IRL in order to start their own podcast and YouTube channel.

When it comes to right-wing YouTubers and podcasters that have garnered popularity for their opinions, Tim Pool is one of the most recognisable names. He is a journalist turned digital content creator with a successful YouTube channel called Timcast IRL.

Recently, the channel lost one of its co-hosts, Lydia Leitermann, more popularly known as Sour Patch Lyds.

She, along with her partner and husband Andy, left the contentious podcast to start their own podcast, as suggested by the official statement from Lydia. However, fans of the podcast have speculated that there is more to her exit than she has put forth.

When did Lydia join Timcast IRL?

Timcast IRL was reportedly established in 2019 by Tim Pool and Adam Crigler in the early days of its inception.

Lydia Leitermann joined the team in 2020 as a producer and contributor who was beloved by viewers of the show for how she challenged Pool.

After the contentious departure of Crigler, there was a lot of speculation about whether Pool and Lydia’s friendship had anything to do with his departure.

This is as Crigler had stated in the past that his exit was not of his own volition, but he never went into detail about exactly what pushed him out.

Why did Lydia leave Timcast IRL?

The good thing about Lydia “Sour Patch Lyds” Leitermann’s departure from Timcast IRL is that she was the one to break the news on her website. She posted a lengthy post confirming her and her husband, Andy’s departure.

There are a number of reasons that she gave for deciding to leave the show after being a part of over 700 shows in her time as a producer and co-host.

Firstly, she indicated that leaving the show would allow her and husband to spend time to focus on growing their family as the couple is reportedly trying for their first child together.

Leitermann was also emphatic during the statement that there is no bad blood between herself and Pool, like the contention that there was when Adam Crigler left in 2020.

She made this clear by writing about her and her husband’s experience as part of the Timcast IRL show.

The statement read, “We could not be more grateful for the time we got to spend here. We met each other here, for Pete’s sake! It’s been an amazing experience all around.”

While the opening of the exit confirmation statement was full of platitudes, it is the second half of the statement that insiders have fine-combed to find the underlying reasons that Lydia really left Timcast IRL.

Did Lydia leave Timcast IRL due to Tim Pool’s politics?

One of the reasons that has been speculated as a motive for Lydia Leitermann and her husband leaving the Timcast IRL is Tim Pool’s political stance.

The right-wing journalist is considered a catastrophist in the manner in which he believes his shows, which seemed to have drained Lydia as in her statement she asserts:

“The truth is that civil war may be coming, and we know this. Tim, Ian and our guests talked about it on Timcast IRL almost every night, it felt like.”

Lydia starts own YouTube channel after leaving Timcast IRL

This seemed to emphasise that Lydia Leitermann may have been tired of the catastrophic stance which Tim Pool takes and shares, and this is allegedly why she announced that she would start her own podcast and YouTube channel.

True to her word, she posted her first video on her channel on Tuesday, 11 October 2022, which will be a permanent feature called “Good News Tuesdays.”

The aim of her channel is described as, “We already have some fun, engaging, non-political ideas to start the conversation, and you’d better believe we’ll be reading your chats.”

Tim Pool on Lydia leaving Timcast IRL

Unfortunately, Tim Pool has not shared any official word about Lydia Leitermann announcing her exit from Timcast IRL.

Even on the show, when Lydia stated that she was leaving the show, adding that she had already trained her replacement by the time she was leaving, with her last show being on Friday, 7 October 2022, Pool did not share a word of goodbye but just closed the show, as is seen in the Instagram post that Lydia shared.
