Any new game is sure to have some bugs, however, AnnieFuchsia believes that she encountered one of the strangest ones while playing New World, as she got permanently banned after milking a cow.
The most recent project from Amazon Game Studios, New World, entered the closed beta phase on Tuesday, 20 July 2021. The beta phase reached nearly 200,000 concurrent players within hours of going live, and it is currently one of the most streamed games on Twitch. One streamer, AnnieFuchsia, was lucky enough to be chosen to be part of the beta phase. However, after just a few hours of playing the game, she got permanently banned after milking a cow.
Annie was venturing through the early stages of the game when she spotted a cow. She decided to milk the cow for its resources. However, after receiving the resources, a permanent ban message appeared on the screen. The streamer was unable to continue playing on the server for quite some time. Despite the ban, Annie handled it with a good spirt, as she pointed out that the word “permanent” in the message box had not been spelled correctly.
Amazon removed her permanent ban as it was a bug that needed to be fixed. Fortunately, Annie was able to get back to playing the game once the servers had been reset after a short time. However, she had a long queue time, as the New World servers have been experiencing a delay for many players due to the masses rushing in to play the game.
New World is scheduled to launch on 31 August 2021. The game is set in the mid-1600s, and sees players colonizing a fictional land modeled after colonial America in the Atlantic Ocean. The game will use a buy-to-play business model, meaning that the game is a once-off purchase and that there will be no monthly mandatory subscription fee.
