Trisha Paytas is stepping away from her highly successful podcast, Frenemies, and has stated that her decision came after a heated argument on the most recent episode.
On Tuesday, 8 June 2021, fans of the Frenemies podcast were shocked after Trisha Paytas uploaded a YouTube video titled “Stepping Down From Frenemies.” The YouTuber hinted that the decision to exit was due to an ownership dispute.
Frenemies was a collaborative podcast between Ethan Klein and Trisha Paytas. The two have had multiple ongoing feuds with each other, hence the podcast’s title. The podcast began in September 2020, when they managed to put their differences aside and come together for the podcast. In the time that they had been active, the podcast managed to gain a huge following.
Paytas allegedly had an issue with Klein, who reportedly stated that Paytas does not contribute to the show. He also reportedly stated that Trisha “just shows up and we do all the work.” What then took place was a heated argument about the financial breakdown of the show, which took place in front of employees. She allegedly disputed the five percent of the AdSense revenue which goes to the crew. Klein later informed Paytas that the crew did not want to film a vlog with them, following the incident, because they reportedly believed she was rude.
In response to the rumours, Paytas stated, “I really wish I could’ve contributed more, I really do, because I feel like I am pretty creative and have good ideas and I wish I could’ve contributed a little more.” Adding, “I guess I should’ve just brought it up a different way and I am thankful for everything they’ve all done for the show.”
Ethan confirmed that the podcast had been canceled, stating, “At the end of the day, Frenemies was a beautiful experiment that I will always cherish. I’ve learned and grown so much from the experience and have Trisha to thank for that. She’s been a dear friend of mine throughout, and I’ll always be grateful for all she’s done for us.”
Fans are hoping that the two can come to an agreement, as this is not the first time that Trisha and Ethan have had a disagreement on the podcast. For now though, Frenemies seems to be over.
