Southern Charm: Taylor reveals what caused the Paige and Craig cheating rumors

It may be difficult to believe, but Taylor has admitted that her fight with Craig actually had nothing to do with him or Paige.

The name may be deceiving, as Bravo’s “Southern Charm” has never held back on its savage drama.

However, Taylor Ann Green has set the record straight that her Paige and Craig cheating accusation had more to do with Shep than it did with her other Southern Charm co-stars.

Southern Charm: Taylor reveals what caused the Paige and Craig cheating rumors

The ninth season of Southern Charm officially kicked off on September 14, 2023, and started off with quite a bang.

Longtime fans of the show may already know that one of the show’s love-to-hate-them couples, Taylor Ann Green and Shep Rose, ended their two-and-a-half year relationship in 2022, after the cameras stopped rolling for season eight.

But what no-one was expecting was that Taylor’s lingering hurt feelings about Shep’s infidelity would ultimately result in cheating accusations being lobbed at Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo.

Although Paige did not make an appearance in this episode, viewers did get to watch a row between Taylor and Craig at Madison LeCroy’s wedding reception.

After blowing up at Craig for not stepping in to defend her when her ex-boyfriend was cheating on her, Taylor decided to double-down and accuse Craig’s girlfriend of cheating on him.

It did not take long for Taylor to break down and admit that Paige and Craig’s relationship actually had little to do with what she shouted at Craig for.

She stated in her confessional, “It’s difficult seeing Shep and I wanted to be the big, bad bitch in the room and ‘you don’t bother me,’ but I do care. I don’t want to care, but I do. And that’s why I did go cuckoo’”

Taylor also admitted that she did not actually have any insider-knowledge of Paige cheating, and that she had just “said it to be hurtful”.

Taylor also said that her cheating accusation was simply based on some of the previous rumors that she had heard about Paige and Craig’s relationship and that the whole thing was simply a childish “jab”.

Is Taylor Southern Charm’s newest villain?

Taylor is still a somewhat recent addition to Southern Charm’s drama-filled cast, and up until the season nine premiere, she has always been regarded as a fairly harmless and sympathetic character.

Moreover, while most fans can and will forgive Taylor for the missteps that she made during her relationship with Shep, blaming other people for her failed relationship and then repeatedly choosing to defend her ‘friendship’ with Austen to Olivia’s face is slowly making her seem like the villain of this season.

However, we could perhaps all agree that none of these situations would have happened in the first place, if Shep, Austen and JT, respected the Southern Charm ladies a bit more.

How did Paige respond to Taylor’s accusation?

Hearing another woman accuse you of cheating during a fight that she is having with your boyfriend is enough to get most people’s blood boiling.

But as always, Paige has managed to laugh off the rumors of infidelity in her relationship in the most Paige way possible.

She took to Twitter to respond to one fan’s comment that “Paige doesn’t have the energy to cheat lmao”, simply replying “no I’m cryingggggg” and seemingly confirming that she has not let these rumors get under her skin.

Is there any truth to these rumors?

Although this explosive moment in Southern Charm’s season nine premiere episode certainly had fans at the edges of their seats (especially those who have been waiting to see Craig finally get his comeuppance), Craig has revealed that he was not as emotionally invested in this moment as everyone else.

Craig disputed Taylor’s rumors that Paige had cheated on him and later told E! News that he recognized where Taylor’s anger towards him was coming from, saying “It was just sad for me because I think I realized in that moment how lost Taylor really is”

And although Craig’s statement does not necessarily guarantee that these rumors are false, his relationship with Paige has seemingly remained solid, even with the rumors which have been circulating (which is all that really counts in the end).
