The Flash: Why is Deon a villain?
In season eight of The Flash, Deon was the main antagonist of the season. This is as the season was focused on Iris West-Allen’s deadly sickness.
Furthermore, Deon returned as the God of Time in season eight, but he also had a deadly sickness that he was trying to heal from, and the way he decided to recover was the reason he was touted as the season’s main antagonist.
By the end of season eight, Deon was responsible for Iris’ death after he summoned her back to the present-day to bear the full brunt of the lightning blast that Barry created by running around Central City to make a Speed Force lightning blast that was powerful enough to neutralise the Negative Speed Force. But Iris took the blast and died in Barry’s arms.
However, this was Deon’s motivation, since the character was introduced as a villain. Deon was continually fixated on the past in an effort to better his future, which sometimes led him astray.
