Chance, played by Donny Boaz, exited The Young & The Restless storyline due to a decision made by the writers, which left the actor saddened by the fact that he couldn’t continue with his character.
Chance Chancellor was a character on CBS’ The Young & The Restless, the son of Nina Webster and Phillip Chancellor III.
The role was taken on by various actors throughout the years, but was most recently played by Donny Boaz.
Surprisingly, Donny’s last appearance was in February 2021, which also served as the character’s last appearance in the storyline.
As Chance has been a part of the show since 1988, viewers wondered if he would make a comeback in the near future.
Donny took to Instagram in February 2021 to announce his departure from the show, and whilst his character will not be killed, he will also not be replaced or returning.
The actor claimed to be saddened by his departure, as he believes that the character could still contribute to the storyline.
He also expressed disappointment in the fact that he was not given time to find another job in advance, leaving him currently unemployed.
He stated, “Here’s what I know… I was told that Chance is not being replaced or killed off. He’s just not going to be there anymore. And… that’s a wrap. I am now a free agent. Time to get to work.”
