Though the original show featured an unforgettable cover, the First Wives Club revival series certainly has a soundtrack that can stand on its own.
It has now been over a year since the “Dancing in the Streets” finale episode of First Wives Club was officially released on the BET+ streaming platform.
Yet there is still no official word on what the future holds for this fan-favorite dramady.
All about the First Wives Club soundtrack
So while we anxiously wait for BET+ or one of the show’s shining stars to tell us if it will be returning for a fourth season (or hopefully, when it will be coming back), we might as well re-live some of our favorite moments in the lives of Bree, Hazel and Ari so far, through the magic of song.
The original 1996 film, The First Wives Club, on which this series is based, brought us the iconic Diane Keaton, Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn cover of “You Don’t Own Me,” originally sung by Lesley Gore.
And this 2019 reboot has certainly delivered a few bangers of its own throughout the seasons.

Did you know that Hazel is an award-winning vocalist in real life?
While you may have found yourself fighting back tears when the feud between Hazel (portrayed by Jill Scott) and Regina (played by Deborah Cox) culminated in this unlikely duo of characters finally landing their first Grammy, you may not have known that Scott actually has three of her own Grammys in real life.
Scott got her first Grammy in 2005 for her performance on “Cross My Mind”, and won again two years later for “God Bless the Child”, and in 2008 with “Daydreaming”.
Scott has even been touring the country now that First Wives Club is no longer filming, to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of her first album titled, Who Is Jill Scott.
