Tara Pacheco has been portraying Versace since First Wives Club’s first season, but you may recognize her from one of her many other projects.
Michelle Buteau’s Dr. Bree Washington, Jill Scott’s Hazel Rachelle, Ryan Michelle Bathe’s Ari Montgomery, and now even Michelle Mitchenor’s Jayla Wright and their busy, messy lives have always been at the center of Tracy Oliver’s First Wives Club remake.
However, the show has made plenty of space for its supporting cast to have some fun too.
And talking about fun on First Wives Club without referencing the young and spunky Versace Ellsworth, who is played by the talented Tara Pacheco, is nearly impossible.
All about Tara Pacheco’s Versace
When Tara Pacheco’s character, Versace is not meddling in her father’s business to support her step-mother Hazel, or trying to get her P.I. business off the ground, she also occasionally has time for a quick heist.
Or most recently – a budding romance, with Yssa Mei Panganiban’s April (or is that Indigo?).
And though Pacheco has not quite jumped on the bandwagon with many of the show’s other stars who have campaigned to get it officially renewed for a fourth season, she has shown her appreciation for this fan-favorite series in other ways.
This includes posting a simple “Um. Hi! Have you been on #Netflix recently?” post to her Instagram page, celebrating the show’s recent ‘Top 3’ spot in this new streaming service, and of course, posting as many Versace outfit pics as possible.

Tara Pacheco as Versace on First Wives Club
The very first pilot episode of First Wives Club premiered on BET back on January 27, 2021, after an extended period of back and forth between the different networks that passed and ordered the series.
However, Pacheco did not officially make an appearance on this show until a few episodes later. All in all, Pacheco’s run as the quick-witted and well-informed Versace can be summarized as follows:
| Detail | Description |
| First appearance | February 10, 2021, in “Diamonds Are Forever” (season 1, episode 3) |
| Seasons | 3 |
| Most recent appearance | August 2, 2023, in “Dancing in the Streets” (season 3, episode 10) |
According to IMDb, this brings Pacheco’s running total of First Wives Club episodes to a not-so shabby 16 episodes.
How Tara Pacheco got her start
Although Pacheco is now most well-known for playing the best First Wives Club step-daughter, Versace, her acting career actually started long before she signed on to do the show.
In fact, Pacheco has formal training in the dramatic and performing arts. She officially started her career in acting as a student at the British American Drama Academy in London, and later earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Psychology at the Columbia University in New York City.
And, like any other acting student, Pacheco has actually starred in quite a few theater productions through the years.
This includes the roles of ‘Horatio’ and ‘Nerissa’ in Shakesbeer (May 2019), the role of ‘Sally Hemings’ in Thomas and Sally, the role of ‘Aisha’ in The Place We Built, as well as various other roles in The Mysteries, The Mister and Kapowi GoGo.
Other projects that you may recognize Tara Pacheco from
Outside of Pacheco’s success in portraying the fan-favorite Versace on First Wives Club for the past three seasons, she has also had a few other notable television and film roles.
In fact, you may have seen glimpses of Pacheco in television shows ranging from The CW’s Two Sentence Horror Stories and Syfy’s Happy!, to NBC Shades of Blue and more.
She has also starred in films like Inside the Rain (2019), Wee Woo (2021), Unidentified Objects (2022), A Thousand and One (2023) and even Louis C.K.’s Fourth of July (2022), for which the famed director gave her a very special shout-out that she happily shared on her Instagram in 2022.
Will Versace be in First Wives Club season four?
With how season three started, it is understandable that longtime First Wives Club fans will have some doubts about whether their favorite characters will return for another season of the series.
To add to this, BET has also not officially renewed First Wives Club just yet.
However, if the show does return for a fourth season, there is a good chance that Pacheco’s Versace will return alongside the show’s other fan-favorite characters.
And with the amount of growth that we have seen from Versace, who went from a meddle-happy P.I. to a considerably more laid-back and in love version of herself throughout the course of this most recent season – we think that there may be big things on the horizon for Versace and her love-life in the future.
