Khalil from First Wives Club urges fans to show their support for the show

Tobias Truvillion, who plays Khalil on First Wives Club, has asked fans of the show to urge BET and Paramount+ to bring it back for another season.

It must be incredibly difficult to stand out in a lineup which features talents like Michelle Buteau (who plays Dr. Bree Washington), Jill Scott (who plays Hazel Rachelle), Michelle Mitchenor (who plays Jayla Wright) and now even Deborah Cox (who plays Regina).

Though BET+’s First Wives Club has introduced a stellar cast of supporting characters throughout its three seasons.

This, of course, includes Tobias Truvillion who played the producer and Hazel’s on and off love-interest since the first season of the series.

And while Truvillion’s Khalil was initially simply a background character in Hazel’s storyline, season three saw the two of them finally take the next step and admit that they would like to pursue something more serious.

In fact, Hazel and Khalil spent so much time together in this season that Truvillion even gave Scott a real-life shout-out on Instagram in a recent November 26 post. In this post, he thanked her for “making work so much fun and effortless”.

However, Truvillion did not end things there. This well-known actor and fan-favorite heartthrob called on the First Wives Club fans to “write in, share and comment and ask for season 4!!!!” in order to convince BET and Paramount+ to bring this beloved series (which has still not officially been renewed) back for another season.

And if Truvillion’s “Damn right!” response to the question about the show’s renewal during his even more recent guest-spot on 107.5 WBLS is anything to go by – we suspect it may be just a matter of time before First Wives Club season four is officially announced.

The First Wives Club leading ladies obviously run up the most screen time in the show.

However, because of Khalil’s rollercoaster relationship with Hazel and his role at the label, he has become one of the most popular (and most often featured) characters on the show.

If you tuned in to watch First Wives Club in the last couple of years and felt like Khalil looked surprisingly familiar, you might have recognized Truvillion from one of his many other notable projects.

Truvillion started his now very successful acting career all the way back in 2002 with the film Paid in Full.

But since then, he has also been featured in films like Respect the Jux (2022), To Her, With Love (2022), Sisters (2023), First Lady of BMF: The Tonesa Welch Story (2023) and shows like Empire, Chicago P.D., Sistas, New Amsterdam, The Resident, The Equalizer and many more.

What Tobias Truvillion thinks of Hazel and Khalil’s relationship

There is no doubt that Hazel has not had the best luck when it comes to her romantic entanglements on First Wives Club. However, Truvillion has shared that he truly believes that Khalil is the answer to all of her problems.

He recently shared this video on his Instagram in which he discusses why he thinks Khalil is “definitely a good guy for” Hazel, since he can provide her with the protection and security that she needs while she figures out who she is as an independent artist and business mogul.

Will we see more of Khalil in the future?

Despite Tobias’s best efforts, BET+ has not officially announced First Wives Club’s renewal for season four yet.

But the show has also not officially been cancelled, which means that there is still hope that all of our favorite First Wives Club characters will be able to return for another season very soon.

And since the drama-filled season three of the series ended with Hazel finally admitting that she was not as truthful as she could have been about her and Khalil’s “unyielding fire” and Regina agreeing to stay on at ‘Ladies First’, we can only hope that we will be seeing more of all three of these characters if (or when) the show is renewed for another season.

And hopefully that also means that First Wives Club will add a few more originals to its soundtrack in the near future.
